The Events and Catering Assistant plays a crucial role in helping Glenaire maintain its mission of service excellence by assisting in the planning and execution of events, meetings, banquets, and catering functions. This full-time role requires a dedicated individual available for 40 hours per week, including weekends, highlighting the dynamic and community-focused nature of the work. The assistant is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of events from start to finish, ensuring memorable experiences for residents and guests. This position entails a diverse range of duties such as event coordination, set up and breakdown, managing catering inventory, and ensuring high standards of food presentation and cleanliness. By communicating effectively with residents, families, and internal teams, the assistant helps manage the details and timelines critical to successful events. Emphasis is placed on maintaining health, safety, and sanitation guidelines to guarantee a safe environment for all attendees. The assistant also supports administrative tasks like scheduling and confirmations, reinforcing the organized and efficient running of the events department. Ideal candidates will bring experience or a strong interest in hospitality, catering, or event management, paired with excellent organizational and multitasking skills. Strong communication and interpersonal abilities are essential to build positive relationships and deliver exceptional customer service. Physical endurance to stand for extended periods and the ability to lift moderate weights is required.
