Job Description and Duties
Under the general direction of the Bureau of Firearms Assistant Director, the Special Agent-in-Charge (SAC) is responsible for the overall operation of the Sacramento, Fresno, and Dublin Regional and Field Offices, in addition to the Contra Costa Anti-Violence Support Effort Task Force in Dublin, the Tulare County Agencies Regional Gun Violence Enforcement Team in Visalia, and the participation with FBI Safe Streets Task Force in Sacramento. The SAC serves as the overall manager/coordinator for the associated sworn and professional staff assigned to these offices, in addition to the program staff assigned to the Armed and Prohibited Persons Unit (APPU) and the Roster and Lab Certification program.Working Conditions The SAC will work in a general office environment, and/or in a field environment, that may include remote crime scenes, harsh weather conditions, irregular hours, and statewide travel.
